March Update 2026

April 3, 2026

Why / London Bridge

“London Bridge is falling down".

I went to London this month to meet up with an old high school friend. London really intrigues me, I have to admit, both historically and culturally. During my trip, I also met some creatives, exchanging stories, experiences, and work.

With little energy left from work, I spent most of it writing and curating my portfolio. Afterwards, I started building a dedicated section for it on this website. This brings me another step closer to realizing a professional design career. So I'd like to talk about this for a bit.

How / Build it up with iron bars

One key component of the portfolio is the content. After that comes the presentation, followed by building a platform for it. I spent the majority of my time writing and editing my portfolio entries.

The writing process was insightful, as I aimed for a style that is clear, confident, and not academic. That approach led to quite a few hypercritical moments, which left me rather exhausted.

After writing the entries, it was time to make them visible. The idea is to create a portfolio section on this website to showcase more polished, professionally aimed work. The goal is to show what I can build, while also giving insight into my way of working.

I have been thinking about presentation and layout for quite a while, even before this month. My website is still in its early stages, as well as my web-dev skills. I had some designs for graphic design and fashion design portfolios, but both available content and development resources are still limited. So I decided to start simple, like my archive section, but with a bit of added flair.

What / My Fair Lady

Just as in the very first monthly update, time and energy remain important when it comes to creating. They're not motivators, but without them nothing really moves.
I'm still in the process of building and publishing my portfolio, approaching it step by step.

Finishing this project will open up space for other creative endeavors again. It also leaves something tangible for other designers and creatives to engage with. From here, I want to start sharing more, connecting with others, and building toward my design career.
