Back during my university years, I started learning Inkscape to create some inspired visual patterns. It was a nice exercise to learn creating geometrical shapes using a vector graphics editor.
Penrose
This is a Penrose pattern which has a fivefold symmetry, however it's irregular. That means that every instance or every time you build this pattern it's completely unique. This version in particular is the second variation of Penrose's attempt in finding a pattern with a fivefold symmetry. What I like about this pattern is that the elements together form some nice stars.
Sayagata
This is pattern based on a buddhist pattern/symbol. What interest me the most is how layered and complex the pattern can get, while in principle it's a simple pattern.
3D Squares
This one is based on a chiyogami paper pattern I already recreated. The question I tried to answer was:
"what if you folded the squares and pattern in a particular way"
Hoping to create a three-dimensional perspective out of a flat visual.
