The little scarf
Remember the first time you get a little scarf, one to keep.
Bought at the store by your parent, a friend or someone dear close.
Maybe sewn by your grandmother, or gifted by your grandfather.
Remember when I gave you my scarf— keeps you snug in winter.
Offering a small token, to show you my appreciation.
Yet in quite a haste, you were eager to return the scarf back.
Remember when I lost you, when we traveled to foreign lands.
Wrapped around in full confidence, full of effortless swagger.
Carried me on your shoulders, until I flew out of your sight.
