A quick story
Once I got origami paper gifted to me from a good friend who lives Hawaii. We were trading pens and stationery, and as an extra he gave some Chiyogami paper. My favorite was the green squares and stripes(which I eventually tried to recreate in a different perspective see here).
I had one problem with the paper design though, it was difficult to digitize them and set them in different formats and aspect ratios. I couldn't just scan and photoshop the paper scans into repeatable patterns. That challenge inspired to pick up the discipline of graphic design, and recreate the patterns on the beautiful paper; bringing it into the digital space.
